Yes, I married Katy Perry and Russell Brand. Rather, I was the officiating minister at the wedding.
Concerning God’s blueprint there are two pacts or covenants that He established for mankind, actually reflecting His ultimate nature and desire for relationship with all humanity.
One was the marriage pact or covenant, uniting two as one for as long as both shall live. This was to be an example of how He wanted to care for His masterpiece creation, created in His Image. This marriage covenant was to be engaged, even enjoyed by believers and non-believers or unbelievers in His ways.
The benefits of monogamy: giving of oneself to one other for life.
And yes contrary to modern societal intellectualism, there are benefits…
The second was the Blood covenant. This was initiated when Adam and Eve, the first to engage in the marital covenant, disobeyed and subsequently separated themselves relationally from Him by their act of disobedience. Forecasted, and thereby established to Eve was that her Seed would one day bruise the head of the serpent, which beguiled her. The deeper meaning and consequence was to redeem mankind to the Original relationship He desired.
Amazingly both covenants can be consummated by belief in the pact, confessing that belief i.e. ‘I do’, and the shedding of blood. Enough said.
Oh, and refuting media outlets it was not a Hindu celebration. I was there.
