Once again the question arose of the reoccurring challenges (geographically, logically, financially, etc.) of Unison Harvest International’s incessant focus on the youth (ages 14-25). Why, why, why? As I was pondering a ‘sound’ response, I mean besides the obvious: more than half the world’s population is under 25 (according to most statistics); the readiness of young people to let the Lord completely redirect their lives and the realization that the majority of people give their lives to the Lord before reaching 21… yeah, besides that.
Joel 2:28, the prophet is speaking about the last days when he states, “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.” It has been said that three-quarters of this verse is talking about young people or youth! But turn with me quickly to Acts 2:17 and see Peter once again led by the Holy Spirit and filled with the Holy Spirit quote Joel’s passage; “And it shall come to pass in these last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh, your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams.” Peter puts the young people first in most standard translations. Is this some accidental misquoting? Was Peter too filled with the Holy Ghost? Or was the Holy Spirit trying to emphasize the Lord’s plan? Personally I believe He was letting us in on a secret. The youth are going to play a very vital part in these last days!
My final point is summed up in this, Bro. Hagin stated sometime around his Tramp!Tramp!Tramp! Prophesy that the youth would be the foot soldiers in the last day’s great revival, and that the greatest signs and wonders would come from their hands. This is truly one of the biggest harvest fields on the planet today!
